READING SPECIALIST School Year 2026-2027 Assignments and Locations to be determined Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for Reading Specialist positions that
may become available within our division for the 2026 - 2027 school year.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher's License with appropriate endorsement as a Reading Specialist
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials
- Possess ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction
- Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning
- Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework
- Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students
- Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Engage and collaborate effectively with parents and families
- Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment
- Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience with early literacy programs
- Experienced or have working familiarity with intervention programs
- Experience or working familiarity with virtual education
FLSA: Exempt
SALARY: $53,889.00 - $87,325.91 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience
