Tennessee Valley Metals is looking for a dependable, hardworking Shop & Materials Technician to join our team. We specialize in the fabrication and installation of aluminum canopies and are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and is willing to help wherever needed to keep shop operations running smoothly.

This position involves operating saws to cut aluminum materials, loading and unloading materials, organizing inventory, preparing materials for fabrication and installation, and occasionally making deliveries to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Operate a heavy-duty miter saw to cut aluminum materials according to provided cut sheets and measurements.
• Read and follow cut sheets to ensure accuracy and minimize material waste.
• Able to accurately read tape measure to the 16th of an inch.
• Load and unload aluminum materials, extrusions, and other shop supplies.
• Prepare, organize, and stage materials for upcoming fabrication and installation projects.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and maintaining organized inventory.
• Make occasional deliveries to job sites and other locations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and properly handle tools and equipment.
• Assist other shop employees and perform additional duties as needed.
• Clean Driving record and Drug Screening.

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual, and motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and pay close attention to detail.
• Comfortable performing physical work, including lifting, loading, and unloading materials.
• Ability to work independently while communicating with the team when questions arise.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record for delivery responsibilities.
• Previous experience with saw operation, fabrication, warehouse work, material handling, or construction is a plus.
• Experience reading measurements and cut lists is preferred.
